Checklist for Cleaning your Office


Clear-out the clutter –Throw it away, recycle or place it back where it belongs. Use zip ties to keep cords organized and coiled.

Dust away –Wipe off dust from common areas with a paper towel or damp cloth. Make use of compressed air to get rid of dust from inaccessible places like keyboard crevices. Don’t forget fan blades and light fixtures.

Building Glass repair –Spray some glass cleaner on glasses and wipe it away with paper towel to remove smudges. Give a wipe to the computer monitors too.

Disinfect –Drub all hard surfaces with a clean rag and sanitizing spray. Pay utmost attention to high germ areas such as microwave, vending machine, water fountain buttons and fridge handle.

Use a cloth to remove cobwebs from each corner of the office. Put the cloth on a broom handle for those high, inaccessible corners.

Clean the fridge –Dispose of old drinks and food to make more space. Possibly this could be a good time to set-up some fridge rules; nobody prefers to find 2 week old take-out.

Wipe-off kitchenware – clean plates, cups & appliances with soap and warm water. Spend some time in organizing cabinets.

Restroom– Rub the surface of the toilet with brush & refill paper dispensers and soap. Disinfect all hard surfaces and wipe down the mirror.

Empty trash / recycling bins –Dispose of recyclables and trash bags properly.

Sweep/Vacuum - Clear the debris and dirt off the floors & furniture. Move furniture and lift cushions on the couch to clean underneath.
